Hummingbirds

A pair of hummingbirds in their nest was taken by Sharon Koos. The nest was built on a weather vane. “The weather vane turns in the wind, the nest turns with it,” Koos said. The picture was taken earlier this year in the back yard of a home in Sun City. Koos reported that the hummingbirds eventually “matured and flew away.”

This photo was taken at a local golf course pond in Mesquite on Monday, June 7 around 7:30 a.m. “It brought a smile to my face to see these lucky white pelicans taking a break during their trek north,” said local resident Sandy Eeds, who took the photo. “I call them lucky because they made it past the unfortunate horror of the Gulf.”
